Who are we

A Onda Verde (Green Wave) – Youth Association for Environment and Adventure is an Environmental Non-Governmental Organisation and a Youth Organisation. It is non-profitable and works at a regional level. It was founded in 1996.

Its main aims are: study, defend and preserve natural and cultural values; promote environmental education at schools; organise expeditions study visits and other outdoor activities; promote professional training courses.

Onda Verde is situated in Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia. The number of associates is around 500 and 85% of them are younger than 30 years old.

Onda Verde develops several projects and campaigns about Nature Protection, Built Heritage, Urban Environment, Industry and Environmental Awareness in different areas, such as: Urban Waste Management, Deforestation, Species Protection, Nature Reserves, etc. It has also established a network of schools with partnership with Onda Verde and many activities are carried out in those schools.
